Who is Jig Patel and why is he saying such terrible things about Immigration New Zealand?
You’ll have to excuse me if I get carried away, but sometimes it can be really frustrating dealing with Immigration New Zealand on a day to day basis when you really care as I do about the outcomes for your clients.
I’ve been in the Immigration game for 8 years now and in that time the service offered by Immigration New Zealand has improved dramatically, however there are still a number of problems with it that can be very frustrating for clients. I have noticed a worsening trend in the last few months which appears to go against the goals INZ set for themselves at the start of 2013 to provide better service and communication. Often it seems like these are just empty words which we hear every year from the corporate heads of INZ, while in reality things on the ground do not relate.
So far in 2013 I have noticed real deterioration in communication and inconsistency and delays in decision making on some application types. For example, we have had Applications for approval in principle to hire foreign workers delayed for months where they are usually decided in a matter of weeks. Despite constant contact with case officers and managers we have received no communication from INZ on these cases.
Fortunately the INZ complaints mechanism and the principles of fairness and natural justice provide us with a way to hold INZ accountable in such cases and we are currently pursuing this lack of consistency and communication in the complaints forum.
This situation is a real worry as we would expect to see constant improvement in service offered and consistency in decisions. However, if you are experiencing similar difficulties or delays in your dealings with INZ then don’t hesitate to get in touch with me and we will do everything we can to ensure that you get the service and the visa you deserve from INZ.
To your success
